Dear sisters and brothers of the international trade union movement!
Greetings!
It has been four decades since you joined the international call for my release from the prisons of the Salvadoran dictatorship, which was granted to us with my 10 brothers from the union of the hydroelectric company - STECEL - in October 1984. From there we rejoined the fight against repression of the workers and we achieved the end of the civil war to enter the process of building a true democracy. We are still short on many aspects and one of the most essential is justice for those who sacrificed their lives in the process.
On October 31, 1989, a powerful bomb took the lives of 9 of our trade union comrades and left around forty others injured. We have been pursuing justice for several years now, held back by a general amnesty that was not declared unconstitutional until 2016 and later by governments that did not want to face the truth of their history as former belligerents. We continue to press for a law of transitional justice and reparation for the victims of the war.
But we have also filed and pursued complaints and convinced the Attorney General of the Republic to open a new investigation and present the case to the courts. The process is slow and difficult but we are making progress. We want your support to ensure that the final steps are successful.
Here we attach all the details of the project in its legal, organizational and administrative aspects - the history of ASOFEBE - the economic needs - how to deliver your contribution.
We ask you to repeat your history of solidarity and join our ranks to complete the last stretch of the road to justice for Febe Velásquez and the other compañeros and compañeras who died with her.

President, ASOFEBE
